debian built the imlib2 soucre pack for me ok but did not fully install every thing

libs from stable2008etch will install in the wrong place. (dev) crap will install - but not in the rite places.
( imlib2 ) goes should go into ( /usr/lib/ )
imlib2 contains two seprate directories ( filters and loaders )

debian4.5 lenny default suck desktop.

2008 / nov /23RD.

----------------------------------- So whats missing in the default suck/gnome desktop. ================ cdrecord ---> missing so install cdrecord my self. ~$ apt-get install cdrecord. =============== mkisofs ---> also missing from my default instal. =============== icedove/thunderbird was also missing. but debian4.5 lenny did have the extremely out-dated mutt installed. wht is mutt installed in my desktop and not icedove? I installed icedove and i'm never going to use mutt. ===================== rythembox was also forced on me. why no xmms? xmms is a classic and it worked great on mimi distros like (damn-small-linux ) when i use it. ===================== I still can't sort out my old audio card so i may switch distros. but not so fast because i don't use my old computer to much. ( no audio is not a deal breaker for me yet.) old computer with a 200mhz proccesor is not going o be a media server any ways. i installed icewm and disable gdm and gnome and i will use the old 200mhz pc for email. gnome can't run on 32mb of ram . icewm works okay for my email needs . gnomes file manager is to bloated for old 200mhz pc so i installed xfe , rox-filler and mc.

(2008 /nov /22ND. SAT ) lenny why so slow? It took me a day to install debian lenny on a old crappy pc. Debians install did not like the lack of ram 32MB . my old gateway pc is slow. gnome is slow // gnome is slow // gnome is slow. so i installed icewm the cool window manager. firefox is slow // firefox is slow // firefox is slow so i installed opera and dillo. gnome's file manager is slow // gnome's file manager is slow // gnome's file manager is slow so i installed xfe and rox-filer. =============== gdm and xdm both suck. i renamed gdm to gdm.BAK# for it would stop loading on start up. ================= i added ( exec icewm 2>/dev/null & ) to the ( .xinitrc ) file in my home directory. #------------------- # sound card hell. #----------------- my old sound card stil dosn't work with alsa and oss is not part of debian/lenny. #---------------- # debian/lenny a work in progres. I'm not turning all my machines over to debian/lenny yet. #-------------- # debian why did you have to kill off sarge/oldstable ? ? sarge/old-stable was working good ( on my old pc ) untill debian cut of support debian/sarge/oldstable no more repository meens no more old crapy apps for my old crapy pc. /////////////////////////////////////////// ///////// all things must come to a end. now i have to learn my way around debian/lenny/2008.
